Pet Nutrition
As a pet guardian, you want the best for your dog or cat. Determining what constitutes “the best,” however, can be difficult, especially when it comes to pet food. For instance, a simple search on the internet about pet food can quickly confuse and frustrate even the most dedicated pet parents.

When it comes to understanding your options, you need to know what things are most important to consider. Pet Nutrition Consultant, Anne Morrison can help! Anne is proud to offer the benefits and experience she obtained through Animal Behavior College by offering in-person and telephone consultations.
Anne firmly believes in the adage "you are what you eat" and in order for a pet to obtain optimal health, focus on nutrition, diet and supplements should be a priority.  Did you know that poor nutrition has a direct correlation with degenerative diseases, cancer, and even behavioral issues?   Many times, even if a pet is eating an organic, high quality diet, there could still be an ingredient that is adversely affecting the pet's health. It could be a food allergen, too many carbohydrates or simply the wrong type of food. Let Anne review your pet’s diet and make suggestions to solve the mystery and take the guess work out of the best way to feed your beloved.
Anne offers a variety of nutritional services including:
  • General Nutritional counseling and guidance
  • Life stage nutrition
  • Weight Concerns
  • Transitioning to new food

Pets evolve, their food should too

Just like you, your pet’s nutritional needs will change as they age. Your pet’s food may need to change over time to accommodate his new nutritional needs, changing body and evolving lifestyle. Let Anne create a personalized pet nutrition plan that is designed to meet the specific nutritional needs of your pet at their particular life stage. By combining an owner’s firsthand knowledge of their pet with proven nutritional expertise, Anne creates personalized nutritional food plan by taking into account qualifiers like your pet’s age, breed size, coat condition and activity level. As a pet’s nutritional needs change, Anne’s nutritional plan can change with them.

Know the quality of the food you’re feeding your pet

Every pet food manufacturer says their products are best, but how do you know if that is true, and more importantly, if they’re best for your specific pet? It’s vital to research beyond the marketing and even the ingredients of a product and look at the brand’s manufacturing reputation and quality standards.  Thoroughly examining the label on your pet’s food and conducting research to determine its true quality is a significant step to help keep your pet healthy.

Anne's personal story

I, like many, fed dry kibble to my first pet as an adult, not knowing any different.  It said “complete and balanced” on the bag.  I didn’t understand how the industry worked and, like many, I trusted the pet food manufacturers to make the best.  That is their business right?  It wasn’t until my cat, Hampton fell victim to kidney disease in her older years that I realized there might be more to it. Because I did not understand or give much thought to what I was feeding her, she became a mortality stat.

I vowed to do better with my next cat, a rescue whom I named Greta, however despite that vow she developed bladder stones.  I was still missing something! Luckily I have the opportunity to turn things around.

After all of these serious issues resulting from uneducated decisions, and after years of working with rescue animals and seeing the “special diet” notes on their kennels, I decided that I had had enough. I set out on a journey to find the truth about what was actually going on with pet food industry and what I learned changed my and my pet’s lives forever.

I have come to learn, the hard way, that there are so many simple things we can do to achieve ultimate pet health! At the end of the day, I want my pets, and yours, to live long, healthy and happy lives. And now, I want to share my knowledge with you to help change your and your pets’ lives too! My hope is that I can empower you to help improve the overall wellness of your pet!
